Course aims

Provide opportunities for acquiring basic knowledge in voice production and healthy voice usage. To create opportunities to achieve sustainable knowledge and skills of the healthy speaking voice.

Brief description of the course

Lectures and seminars deal with the use of the principles of a healthy voice. The student learns and acquires the basics of vocal physiology and the principles of the vocal apparatus and voice direction (correct posture, breathing, coupling breath technique with voice use of resonators, clear enunciation). Basic knowledge about factors detrimental to voice. Insight into the principles of voice training. The voice in different ages. Voice and performance, and coping with performance anxiety. Vocal exercises and diction exercises for the development of carrying power of voice and sustainable use of voice.
Maximum number of participants 20.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- is familiar with the voice apparatus and its functioning principles;
- has acquired the basic knowledge and practical skills of healthy voice usage in speech.
