Course aims
Aim of this course is to enable the students to learn from experienced organizers of cultural events, public relation specialists and project managers, how to conduct a
culture event sufficiently and resultatively as well as practice this in connection in the framework of some larger event (festival, audivisual concert series, group
exhibition) in groupwork.
Brief description of the course
The course is mostly practical. Guest lecturers introduce their experiences. Students become familiar with the different roles and aspects (planning, leading, guiding
and teamwork, communication, merchendising, budget, formal aspects), introduce in seminars their project (part) from both the content and the organizational side, build
teams and take their dueties in agreed rolls until the real event has taken place. The course ends with a pass or fail seminar, where every student reflects and assesses
(self and peertopeer assessment) the process experiences (objectives, planning process, success and fail experiences, future aspects).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has learned from organizers of cultural events, public relation, specialists and project managers how to start and conduct a cultural event through theoretical and practical experiences;
- can conduct an authentic organizing process with agreed responsibilities, as well as experience and reflect its different aspects
