Course aims
To develop the ability to plan, manage and evaluate creative projects by applying contemporary project management principles and methods, and to support independent professional activity, initiative and competitiveness in the labour market.
Brief description of the course
The course provides a systematic overview of preparing, carrying out and evaluating creative projects and offers practical experience in project-based work. Topics include cultural policy, project planning, budgeting, reporting, funding opportunities, media, marketing, visual communication, advertising, sales, copyright, contracts and ethics. Independent practical tasks help students develop suitable project-management solutions for themselves.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- plans a creative project by defining its aims, target group, activities, timetable and expected results;
- prepares a project budget and understands reporting principles;
- knows the main funding opportunities in Estonia and can choose suitable support and financing sources;
- uses the basic principles of marketing, media and visual communication in project implementation;
- takes copyright, contractual and professional ethical principles into account when preparing and running creative projects;
- analyses project implementation and results and justifies personal choices.
