Course aims
The objective of the course is to create opportunities for students to understand the principles of vocational training didactics and to support the development of preparedness to design a student- and outcome-centred vocational training process.
Brief description of the course
The concept and meaning of didactics. The nature of vocational training didactics: theory and practical training didactics. Didactic system, its components. The objectives, content, levels and outcomes of vocational training, outcome-centred vocational training, taxonomies, the curriculum of the speciality and the operational programme of the module. Vocational training target groups: the inclusive function of vocational education, characteristics of vocational educational students. The theoretical basis of vocational training, teaching methods, principles of vocational training didactics, didactic links, concept of integration and principles of outcome-centred assessment. Environment which motivates and supports the development and value-formation of students.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- analyses the didactic system on the basis of the theoretical approaches of vocational training didactics;
- understands the nature of outcome- and student-centred learning in vocational education;
- analyses the opportunities of supporting the learning and development of the student according to the characteristics and developmental needs of vocational education students;
- describes ways to integrate key competences with specialised and general studies in the vocational training process.
