Course aims
To create opportunities for obtaining an overview of the didactic principles of adult teaching, and for the development of preparedness and practical skills for teaching activities.
Brief description of the course
Didactic principles of adult teaching originating from different education philosophy approaches (liberalism, behaviouralism, progressivism, humanism, radicalism). Planning, carrying out and evaluating the learning process. Designing a learning environment and supporting learning. Formation of motivation to learn in the learning process. Doctrine of power and manipulation. Indoctrination. Preparation of teaching materials. Functions of learning assignments. Choices made by adult teachers to support learning.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the didactic principles of teaching adults;
- is able to conceptualise, plan, carry out, manage and evaluate the learning process;
- is familiar with the principles of preparing teaching materials;
- is able to create teaching materials and assignments that support learning;
- is aware of the choices of the teacher in adult education.
