Course aims
To develop knowledge of theoretical approaches and practical strategies of information and knowledge management and skills to apply them in the organization.
Brief description of the course
Organizational information culture and information policy. Processes and strategies for information management, information resources, information technology and knowledge management. Organizational information needs. Strategies for creating, collecting, processing, disseminating and using information. Management decisions are supported by information systems and information monitoring. The role of information and knowledge management in managing change, innovation and risk.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the importance of the organization's information culture and information policy in achieving strategic goals;
- knows and differentiates the information-related processes applied in the organization: information-, knowledge-, information resources and information technology management;
- is able to analyze the information needs of the organization and organize the monitoring of strategic information resources in the external environment, linking it to the goals of the organization and change, innovation and risk management.
