Course aims
To create prerequisites for the development of information specialists who know the principles, systems and possibilities of information and knowledge management and organize information and knowledge management in libraries and information institutions, who are competent to organize information and knowledge management and learning at the organizational level.
Brief description of the course
The subject covers the following subject areas:
• Systems and technologies for the creation, collection, processing, dissemination and use of information.
• Systems and technologies for knowledge acquisition, accumulation, transfer and application.
• Knowledge management processes and mechanisms, knowledge management systems.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the principles of information and knowledge management, the possibilities of systems and technology;
- has an overview of information and knowledge management systems and technology and the possibilities of its implementation and the role of the information worker in the information and knowledge management process;
- is able to analyze and select systems and technologies for information and knowledge management in the organization;
- is able to initiate and organize the information and knowledge management process in the organization / community using technology.
