Course aims

The course aims to provide the necessary skills for implementing design ideas as functional prototypes.

Brief description of the course

This course is an extension of End-user Computing (IFI7314.DT), focusing on the theory of interactive systems and advanced development topics like sensors, cameras, audio, graphics to enable students to develop interactive systems.
The course introduces the building blocks required for developing interactive systems, integrated development environments and UI development toolkits.
The course is delivered through a set of individual and group-based activities that will provide students with hands-on experience of building functional prototypes.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the advanced concept used for developing interactive mobile systems (e.g Android);
- knows how to choose a suitable platform for developing interactive systems;
- knows how to develop functional prototypes;
- knows how to work in teams and distribute functionality to be developed among team members.
