Course aims
The goal of the course is to familiarize students with knowledge in the area of graphical information processing and to develop practical skills for creative projects.
Brief description of the course
Introduction to computer graphics and its areas of application. Basic principles of graphic design, composition, color theory, and design tools. Graphic file formats and application areas. Raster graphics. Introduction to photo editing, from basics to advanced editing. Color space and color models. Vector graphics, from basics to advanced editing. Automated tools and AI-powered features for designing computer graphics.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- develops an understanding of the theoretical basis and practical aspects of computer graphics;
- has ability to solve assignments in the field of graphic information processing;
-is able to visualize and express their ideas and messages graphically;
- is able to understand and responsibly deploy image processing and manipulation using graphic software and automated tools;
- is able to use computer graphics tools to design software user interfaces.
