Course aims
To create opportunities for the development of an understanding of the basic principles and basic theories of design and their application in practical work.
Brief description of the course
Design work process and methods, design thinking. Execution of design work from input to final formulation: problem setting, research, generation of ideas, planning, finishing, analysis and evaluation. Basic principles of composition, color teaching and typography and their application in design.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledge of design work process and design thinking and is able to apply different design work methods;
- knows and is able to apply various basic design principles in performing design work;
- is able to analyze designs based on the basic theories of design.
