Course aims
To learn to understand the religious processes, their influences and the relations between religious groups in contemporary world.
Brief description of the course
The course integrates lectures and seminars for the presentation of students’ self-study. Every session focusses on one religion (e.g. Islam, Christianity etc) or one region (e.g. Middle East, Central Europe), which is studied in detail. Lectures provide an overview of the religion or the region. In the seminar the particular problems related to the peculiarities of the religion or the region are addressed. All students prepare a reseach paper on at least one of these problems.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Knowledge of religious processes in general and of their essential features.
