Course aims

Deepen the knowledge of some specific field of French language or culture.

Brief description of the course

The course varies from year to year. If it deals with French culture, it may either concentrate on some historical period (medieval, Renaissance, Enlightenment etc) or analyse some specific cultural phenomenon. A language course will deal with language in its historical development.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has in-depth knowledge of the subject;
- is able to analyse cultural texts representing the given period or phenomenon in their historical, mental and cultural contexts;
- can relate the past phenomena with the present day.
