Course aims

To create preconditions for
- - better understanding of French language corpora discussing it from socio-cultural and linguistic aspects;
- - systematic approach of concepts, changes and dynamics in French speaking societies through its’ discourse analysis;
- - implementation of linguistic research tools in students’ research papers.

Brief description of the course

Content analysis and discourse analytic approaches to text and talk in French.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- recognizes socio-cultural and linguistic aspects in French language corpora and to analyses it in a logic and clear way ;
- reads critically text and talk, detects latent or invisible sociocultural processes, changes and dynamics in French speaking societies and explains it through its’ discourse analysis;
- conduct a content and discourse analysis in French;
- implements linguistic research tools in his/hers research papers.
