Course aims
To develop the students’ skills of planning and conducting the teaching process; to enable the integration of theory and practice as well as the preparation for the first teaching practice.
Brief description of the course
The theoretical knowledge obtained in subject didactics is put into practice in real school environment. Based upon the subject didactics course the student prepares 5 practicum tasks for which feedback will be received from the supervising teacher, lecturer and peer students. The tasks are carried out at school according to the individual action programme (in agreement with the school supervisor).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
By the end of the subject didactics practicum the student is able:
1. to plan and conduct a lesson on a certain topic in a given class;
2. to compile and use teaching materials in order to attain the set instruction goals;
3. to explain a grammar rule at upper secondary school level;
4. to compile and carry out creative or project work assignments in English instruction;
5. to analyse his own and his peer student’s work.
By the end of the subject didactics practicum the student is able:
