Course aims
To give a comprehensive introduction into 17th to 19th century Estonian art and architecture.To enable students to develop their skills for analysing art and architecture in its political and socio-cultural context.
Brief description of the course
Under analysis are not only the most important artworks andbuildings, but also the style changes, the roll of the prominent artists and architects,and the international impacts on the local art scene.
The lectures are richly illustrated, but the special attention will be paid to the collections of the Art Museums.
