Course aims

Basic knowledge and skills of cross-country skiing as sports-for-all

Brief description of the course

Characteristics and development of skiing. Equipment, criteria and maintainance. Suitable learning and teaching environment, maintanance. Safety in skiing. Skiing styles, basic technical didactical aspects. Participation in skiing activities, self analyses. Teaching aspects. Practical use of skiing in natural settings. Ski-resorts and centers in Estonia.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
-knows about main principles of skiing and, teaching skiing, has basic skills of skiing
can ski on basic level, and can teach basic elements of skiing.
