Brief description of the course
Psyche. Paradigms and methods of psychology. Sensory processes: vision, hearing, balance, position of the body in space, proprioception, other sensory systems. Movement. Structure and functioning of the nervous system. Psychic processes: emotion, motivation, perception, memory, thinking, planning of actions, language and speech.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows and understands the essence of psyche and the principles of the functioning of psyche;
- knows and understands the principles of the functioning of biotic processes that underlie psyche (sensory systems, nervous system);
- knows and understands theoretical principles of psychology today; understands the fundamental shortcomings of these theoretical principles and knows why the majority of empirical studies conducted in psychology today do not allow understanding and explaining psyche in principle.
