Course aims
To acquire knowledge of the various forms of scientific thinking. Understanding of the fundamental differences between meaningful and mainstream cognitive psychology. Acquire knowledge about basic components of mental systems.
Brief description of the course
About fundamental principles and history of psychology as a science. Structural-systemic and modern understanding of psychology as a science. On the nature of living beings and psyche. Cognitive processes: perception, attention, memory, thinking, planning, emotions, motivation, theory of representations.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the importance of history in scientific expertise;
- understands the benefits of structural-system worldview over the contemporary mainstream psychology;
- knows basic components of mental systems and their properties.
