Course aims
General subject. To provide the students with an understanding of the origin and development of the planet. Our location in space and the main characteristics of Earth.
Brief description of the course
The location of Earth in space and the solar system, the development and main parameters of planet Earth. Regularities in the geospherical concept. The detailed study of Earth geospheres: atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, pedosphere, biosphere - their definitions, characteristics and peculiarities. Interactions between the geospheres and their unity.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledges about Earth systemical structure; the hierarchy of the system;
- has ability to analyze individual parts of geosphere and their structure;
- has knowledge about the legitimacy of geosphere;
- has capability to understand the concept and wholeness of landscape sphere.
