Course aims
Overview of systems biology history and different branches of systems biology.
A comprehensive understanding of modern system biology and its future
directions. Overview of applied systems biology and it's methodology.
Brief description of the course
Overview of systems biology history and of methods that made its possible for
the field to emerge. To have a thorough understanding of different branches of
systems biology, such as transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics and
metabolomics.
Overview about how to model and discover emergent properties, properties of
cells, tissues and organisms functioning as a system whose theoretical
description is only possible using techniques which fall under the remit of
systems biology. To study the interactions between the components of biological
systems, and how these interactions give rise to the function and behavior of that
system. Introduction to major statistical methods used in system biology. A
comprehensive understanding of modern system biology and its future
directions.
