Course aims

Reinsure the students' ability in ear training, e.g. hearing, rhythm, harmony and musical memory on a stable level. Support their skills to notate 3–4 part musical textures, orientate in real musical context and to solfegge tonal and post-tonal melodies.

Brief description of the course

Notate 3–4 part tonal and post-tonal musical textures. Notate basic structures, e.g. metrum, rhythm, pitch from real musical context. Solfegge of tonal and post-tonal melodies. Independent work includes practical homework (preparing of solfeggio melodies) and performing in seminars.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
I The student is able to notate 3–4 part tonal and post-tonal textures which are played with several timbres. II The student is able to notate slices different texture out of real musical context (from CD).III The student is able to solfegge tonal and post-tonal melodies.

Additional information

The course is practical in nature and requires regular participation, active work and individual training. The student is allowed to be absent (without formal reason) only for one lecture meeting (2 academic hours) in each main topic (3 part, 4 part textures, real musical context).
