Brief description of the course
The course consists of practical training sessions aimed at further developing flexibility, coordination, balance and expressiveness through the classical ballet training system. Particular attention is given to technical precision, posture and movement quality.
The course includes:
barre exercises for developing technique and strength;
centre work focusing on balance, coordination and movement continuity;
allegro combinations with small and middle jumps;
preparatory exercises for pirouettes and high-level jumps.
The learning process is practice-based and requires participation in at least 85% of contact sessions.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- performs the basic movements and exercises of classical ballet with improved technical accuracy and awareness;
- applies principles of musicality and coordination in ballet training combinations;
- understands the basic terminology of classical ballet and relates it to movement analysis;
- applies fundamental principles of body movement and anatomically informed body use in ballet training;
- prepares the body for more complex technical elements, including turns and medium-level jumps.
