Course aims
To create opportunities for basic knowledge of principles of body movement and anatomically correct body control in the context of contemporary dance choreography.
Brief description of the course
The course deals with the body as a psycho-physical entity. Teaching consists of practical training sessions, which include developing the sensitivity, mobility, strength, flexibility, coordination, expressiveness and spontaneity of physics. As well seminars to analyze the activities / events / performances / independent reading of contemporary dance. The seminar will take place during the Project week and the last week of December, where the student has prepared analyze based on theatrical performances and compulsory literature of the previous month (bodywork in specific choreography). Process-based learning requires participation in auditory work (practical training): at least 80% attendance to the exam and completion and submission of the study journal.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- uses anatomically correct body and movement in the context of Western Theatre dance traditions;
- performs movements in a focused and analytical way;
- uses different techniques and approaches to dance movement in the context of Western Theatre dance traditions;
- analyzes and reflects on the work process as both an observer and a participant.
