Course aims
The purpose is to provide opportunities for learning theoretical and practical skills in how to develop the composition of an artistic work; and learning how to use compositional drawing as a theme in art classes in schools.
Brief description of the course
Various approaches to compositions of objects. Stylisation and abstraction. Figural composition. Foreshortening, deformation, generalisation. Colour in drawing. Different dimensions of the object depicted. Narrative and illustrative drawing. Focus on individual expression and creativity. Inclusion of students in creating the composition and its supervision.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Is able to apply an individual mode of expression and find original solutions;
Is able to express and articulate the choices and preferences in compositional decisions;
Is able to find and develop motives; set up drawing tasks and supervise the completion.
