Course aims
-To create possibilities for the practical application of theoretical knowledge in work with children up to seven years of age;
-to support the development of associations between carrying out student educational activities and the acquired knowledge;
-to allow for the development of the student’s skills in supporting the development of the child, communication in child care institutions as a teacher and organiser of educational activities;
- enabling students to use appropriate IT tools and capabilities to design the learning environment and carry out learning activities;
-to provide opportunities for familiarization with the content and organization of first-level education and training activities in the 1st grade;
-to support the student in planning professional development and forming a comprehensive picture of the role in the profession.
Brief description of the course
Get acquainted with the documentation of the kindergarten group. Observe and analyze the teaching and educational activities carried out by the teacher. Plan and carry out learning and educational activities and analyze the activities carried out. Plans for learning and educational activities should be based on the following areas: media education and / or digital learning solutions in group work with children, outdoor learning activities and activities in parallel subgroups.Supervise children's daily activities and games, organize exercise games and children's activities while outdoors. Assess and analyze one child's school readiness and complete a school readiness card. Plan and conduct an event for children (such as a play party).
To get acquainted with the content and organization of teaching and educational activities in the 1st grade of the 1st grade, to observe and analyze the study day conducted by the teacher, to participate in conducting lessons as a teacher's assistant. Design and conduct a game using appropriate digital learning solutions (media education, robotics, teaching STEAM skills) to meet learning objectives.
The practice will not be transferred with VÕTA.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to develop a playful and safe growth environment based on the child in educational and educational activities;
- can create opportunities for the child to develop communication, learning and cooperation skills;
- is able to relate study and educational activities to the surrounding environment;
- is able to plan, conduct and analyze educational and educational activities; assess and analyze children's development;
- is able to evaluate and reflect on his / her work;
- is able to use appropriate ICT tools and opportunities in designing the learning environment and carrying out learning activities;
- is familiar with the content and organization of the study and educational activities of the first class of the first level of school;
- can do teamwork.

Teaching practice is not transferred with VÕTA (decision 1-6/34 of 12.03.2018 of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of Education; Teaching practice encompasses the activities of the teachers of pre-school child care institutions in accordance with the professional standard and continuous self-analysis. Upon completion of the studies, the vocation of Teacher Level 6, shall be awarded, which requires the completion of teaching practice).
