Course aims
To provide the students with basic information about the development of
economic relations of Estonia in the framework of european history and its
impact on social life, mentalities etc
Brief description of the course
The lectures outline money and banking system and the development of trade in their mutual relations. Local economic history is analysed in the framework of European context. The specific features and phases of the development of Estonian economic history will be drawn out.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
After the course the student
- knows the main facts and turning points of
Estonian economic history
- is able to reflect on the main factors of the local
economic development
- knows the names of the most important historians
who have dealt with the local economic history
- is aware of the specific features of Estonian economic
history
- can compare the local economic development with
that of Europe
