Brief description of the course
Health education concepts. Effectiveness of health education concepts and historical overview. Critical life skills, health education standards. Programs, management, evaluation, strategic planning. Moderation in health education, learning process and evaluation. Values and beliefs. Critical life skills. Levels of learning. Self-esteem and health behavior. Overview of protective factors and the strategy for handling them. International health education. Peer education methodology
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understanda the concept of sexuality education;
- is able to choose an effective life skills concept for planning health education;
- can explain the components necessary for affecting health behavior and the strategic principles of teaching them;
- can develop/adapt health education curriculum in accordance to health education standards.
