Mechanism of muscular contraction. Leverage systems. Passive components of muscular system and their role in alteration of its function. Adaptation, hypertrophy and hyperplasia. Muscle pain. Detraining. Body defense systems. Components of nonspecific body defense system. Immune system. Immunological memory. Allergy. Physical load and catching cold. Thermal regulation. Thermal balance of the body. Adaptation to cold and warm environment. Shivering and non-shivering thermogenesis. Characterization of sweat glands. Composition of sweat and need for restoring of electrolytes. Re-hydration, composition of sports drinks and requirements of the body. Appetite and mechanisms of regulation.
