Course aims
To create a review of using indoor physical activities working with children at different ages. To support teaching indoor physical activities, planning and organising indoor activities
Brief description of the course
Teaching different ways of physical activities (running, jumping, climbing and crawling exercises), lining, exercises with and without different instruments , balance exercises and throwing drills to children at different ages. Bearing exercises. Acrobatics exercises, rhythmic exercises and dances: their teaching methodology. Compiling and describing performance plans and preparation of performances.
Indoor games; simplified versions of sports games.
Swimming and games in the water.
Integration of exercises and games with other subject areas.
Safety regulations and first aid for indoor physical activities. Supervising children’s physical load and regulating it.
Planning and conducting indoor sports days, sports parties, health days and other indoor activities; collaboration with colleagues and parents when organising events.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
After the course the student:
- has knowledge of different possibilities of indoor activities, teaching techniques of different exercises and games, compiling performance plans and organising indoor sports events;
- can teach physical exercise and games conducted indoors
- can plan indoor physical activities and can analyse his/her performance in teaching physical exercise.
