Course aims
To support formation of competence for working with children with special needs and their family members. To obtain an overview of organising physical activities for children with different disabilities, ability to evaluate physical working capacity and skills of children with special needs and take this into account when planning and carrying out physical activities for these children
Brief description of the course
Review of special needs and the peculiarities of children with special needs. Educational organisation for children with special needs.
Organising physical activities for children with different chronic diseases (diabetes, asthma, etc.), disabilities (physical, speech impairment, sensory, intellectual and multiple disabilities) and developmental disorders.
Evaluating physical skills and physical working capacity of children with special needs.
Planning physical activities for children with special needs.
Cooperation between parents of children with special needs and teachers working in kindergarten to support children’s physical and motor development.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
After the course the student:
- Knows subdivisions of special needs and knows how to organise children’s physical activities in case of different special needs;
- Can evaluate physical skills and physical working capacity of children with special needs and plan children’s physical activities in accordance with them;
- Is ready to work with children with special needs, their family members and his/her colleagues in the interest of children’s physical and motor development
