Course aims
To create opportunities for gaining knowledge about child’s health and healthy lifestyle at different ages.
To create knowledge about the basics of health promotion and its organisation in kindergarten.
To support student’s readiness to use the knowledge in planning and managing the learning process, as well as instructing and counselling children, teachers and parents.

Brief description of the course
Basic of health promotion (concept of health, things affecting health,source documents of health promotion, disease prevention, health education, health promotion).
The principles of kindergarten promoting health (cooperation, creating favourable conditions, developing a healthy lifestyle). The principles of development plan in health promoting kindergarten.
Teamwork and management. Networking in health promoting kindergartens. Cooperation between home and kindergarten. Child’s developmental environment (physical and mental internal and external environment in kindergarten), security (incl preventing injuries and first aid)
Healthy food, shaping the eating habits.
Health education and a child with special needs, creating opportunities for children with special needs. Making plans for health promotion in kindergarten (big events of a year, health programmes and projects, joint activities in kindergarten, short-term plans), rules of health promotion in kindergarten.
