Course aims
Create a complete picture of children’s physical development and physical education meant to support it. Support the competency necessary for PE teacher in kindergarten acquiring
- Knowledge how to organise PE in kindregarten;
- Skills to teach physical exercise based on motorics and analyse his/her activity;
- Skills to evaluate physical acivities and working capacity of chidren at different ages and plan children’s physical activities;
- Readiness to cooperate with parents and kindergarten staff to develop children’s physical activities and working capacity
Brief description of the course
Documents regulating children’s physical education: the national curriculum for pre-school educational establishment, requirements of health protection in pre-school educational establishment.
Objective, contents, methods and types of children’s physical education.
Considering the peculiarities in children’s development while organising physical education.
Hygiene of physical exercise. Ensuring the safety while doing exercise. First aid. Determining the density and load of physical activities and the ways to regulate it.
Methodology to teach physical exercise based on motorics. Describing physical exercise using verbal skills. Evaluating children’s basic physical skills.
Physical abilities and methodology to develop them. Evaluation of children’s physical working capacity; tests for physical abilities. Planning physical education: compiling the syllabus of PE in kindergarten and detailed plan for PE lesson. Integrating PE with other subject areas.
Cooperation with parents and kindergarten staff to support children’s physical development. Councelling parents and teachers

Upon completing the course the student:
After the course the student:
- has knowledge about children’s physical development, physical education of children at different ages and how to organise it in kindergarten;
- can teach physical exercise based on motorics, evaluate children’s basic physical skills and physical working capacity;
- can plan PE of children at different ages, compile different detailed plans and describe physical exercise using verbal skills;
- can analyse her/his and her/his mate’s activity teaching physical exercise
