Course aims
To provide an overview of different types of talent, methods of developing it, talent as a special need. Form skills to provide favorable environment for developing talent and creativity
Brief description of the course
History of talent. Definition of talent, intelligence, creativity. Types of talent, characteristics of a talented child. Necessary factors to manifest abilities. Models characterising talent. Methods of diagnosing talent. Talent as a special need. Talented child with special needs. Developing talents as an area of individualizing in kindergarten. Growth environment to promote the development of a talented child in kindergarten. Talented child and parents, growth environment at home. Personality and creativity. Components of creativity. Methods of developing creativity. Creativity and favorable environment. Supporting creativity.

Upon completing the course the student:

- has the knowledge of definitions and types of talent, intelligence and creativity and developing methods;
- notices children’s talent,including the talent of a child with special needs;
- knows how to form supporting environment to develop creativity and talent
