Brief description of the course
History of the theory of the translation. Contemporary theory of the translation. Directions of the different schools of the translation. Essence of the process of the translation. Value, sense, discursus. The source language, the translations language. Semantics, pragmatics, the linguistics of the text. Translation strategy. Social, cultural and psychological aspects of the translation. Equivalence of word, phrase, proposal, entire text depending on its type. Equivalent and the functional similarity. Analysis and the estimation of the translation. Editing. Acquisition of the habits of the use of bases of theory and analytical and practical activity.
