Course aims
Give a systematic overview of the principles of management in the public, private, and third sectors. Introduce various approaches related to contemporary management and organizational reforms.
Brief description of the course
The course provides an overview of the fundamental concepts of organization and management, reforms, and principles, including strategic management, marketing, as well as organization and management in the context of sustainable development. The course addresses principles and practices related to management and organizations, contextualizing them through the differences and commonalities of the public, private, and third sectors.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is familiar with various schools of thought and theories related to organizational development;
- understands the main differences between private, public, and third-sector organizations and their management;
- recognizes the elements of an organization and integrate them based on problems and goals;
- is able to independently gather information and solve tasks and cases related to public management.
