Course aims
Core subject. The students acquire skill in handling sewing machines, the theoretical and practical basis of sewing technology, the skill necessary for sewing a skirt.
Brief description of the course
Sewing tools. Sewing machines: parts, working principles, care and cleaning. Sewing materials: classification, properties, maintenance. Sewing of simple garments. Pattern-making. Sewing of a skirt: cutting out, fitting, final pressing.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Can use and take care for sewing machine.
Can use tracing patterns.
Can cut out details and mark them.
Can fit the garment.
