Course aims
The goal of the subject is: To offer to the students an overview of terms and notions of mathematical analysis, which are useful for those who choose to teach mathematics at the secondary school level.
Brief description of the course
Course covers selected topics of mathematical analysis. The concept of a function. Limit of a function and of a sequence, its properties and conditions for existence. Derivative of a function, its properties. Mean value theorems in differential calculus. Taylors formula. Least squares approximation. Indefinite integral and definite integral, their properties and applications. Functions of several variables, limits and continuity. Partial derivatives and differentiability of a function of several variables. The tangent plane of a surface. Extrema of functions: relative, absolute and conditional extrema. Differential equations as mathematical models. Separable variables, first-order linear equations. Applications in geometry, physics and economics.
Attending lectures is a prerequisite of the learning process.

Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows main notions of the subject;
- is familiar with the main methods and their applications;
