Course aims
The aim of the course is to introduce software which can be used in teaching mathematics. Also different web-based instruments, interactive tools, and innovative pedagogical scenarios are considered. Creation of readiness for implementation of the corresponding tools in teaching mathematics.
Brief description of the course
Course description: During the course a variety of programs (eg Geogebra, Wolfram Alpha, Desmos) are considered. Different Web 2.0-based tools are explored (including different web-based learning/teaching environments, conduction webinars, web-based assessment tools, organization of online group work etc). Various innovative scenarios in which the learner is actively involved in the learning process is also examined. A rational use of ICT and copyright are considered.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- uses suitable ICT equipment for cooperation on the basis of the study objectives;
- designs and prepares digital learning objects and distributes these in a web-based environment;
- knows different innovative scenarios, which supports student-centered approach to teaching/learning and knows how to implement them using digital tools;
- follows good practice in using web-based information (Creative Commons) and intellectual property.
