Course aims

The aim of the subject is to give students a brief overview of vectors in plane and space, coordinate systems, equations of lines in a plane and equations of lines and planes in space.

Brief description of the course

The topics of this course are: vector level, straight level, vector space. Linear ornaments with vectors. Scalar, vector and mixed multiplication of vectors. Equations of lines and planes in space. Transition from one form of the equation to another. Mutual positions of lines and planes in space. Polar coordinates.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:

- knows and understands the basic concepts of analytic geometry;

- knows the main properties, connections, theorems covered in the course; can derive and prove them;

- is able to solve standard problems in analytic geometry.
