Course aims

Acquiring the main principles of financial mathematics

Brief description of the course

Simple and compound interest. Present value of money. Discounting. Annuities. Investment evaluation. Bonds and shares assessment. Financial risk and diversification.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to solve fundamental problems of financial mathematics;
- is able to apply theoretical knowledge into practice.
