Course aims
Major. To introduce the basic methods of drawing three dimensional objects. To learn to complete three dimensional geometry tasks using technical drawing and to use current computer technology for making technical drawings.
Brief description of the course
Main problems of representing three-dimensional figures on a plane. Complete and incomplete drawing. Parallel projection, its properties. Relationships between parallel projection and figure affine properties. Monges method. Composite drawing. Polyhedrons, mapping onto a plane and constructing a line of intersection. Length of segments. Parallel projection of lines and planes. Constructing of quadratic curves. Development of polyhedrons. Axonometry. The principal theorem of axonometry. Orthogonal isometry. Mapping of solids of revolution. Central projection, its properties. Perspective using lines. Technical drawing with a computer.
