Course aims
Main of teacher training. Through practical activities to introduce students to openings and ways of advancing pupils’ knowledge about nature in gymnasium, learning different methods of teaching Physics and ability of application of these methods in Physics lessons; acquiring of knowledge of speciality, achieving ability to apply components of general didactics and methods encountered in the world proceeding from nature of the subject; achieving an interest to the specific didactics of the teacher’s work, formation of positive attitude to teacher’s work as a creative activity, value activity teaching and learner-centered approaches.
Brief description of the course
Various topics of school Physics are considered, the ways to illustrate the topics are learnt. Methodology of teaching physical concepts, theories, facts and laws is formed. Use of various teaching aids (textbooks, workbooks, transparencies, demonstration and technical devices) in Physics lessons are considered. Independent planning and giving of lessons is learnt. In practical works solution of exercises as a teaching method is considered. The students visit Physics lessons in different schools, which are analysed in didactic and speciality viewpoints.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Praktikum rollimäng, diskussioon, case stady, demonstratsioonkatsete esitlus, videotreening. Seminaris rühma-, grupitööd, ettekanded. Iseseisevtöö, ülesannete lahendamine, tunnianalüüs. Loeng.
