Course aims

Understanding of microbial diversity and their importance.

Brief description of the course

Microbial morphology and their spread in nature. Overview of different physiological and systematical groups of microbes. Aerobic and anaerobic breathing. Animal and plant microflora. Human microflora.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has an overview of microbial diversity in various organisms and systems;
- can identify different species and taxonomic units based on their of morphology and physiology.
