Brief description of the course
In the field trips students will repeat and learn more Estonian plants and animals in their natural habitats. Main methods used in plant ecology will be introduced: describing the structure and species composition of associations, describing environmental conditions, experimental ecology in the open air, studying the interactions of populations, geobotanic charting.
Introduction to Estonian mushrooms. Field course about biodiversity and the ecology of the more widespread mushrooms and fungi of Estonia.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Knows main species in different habitats and knows how to recognise different communities and ecological systems from plant and animal species and structure. Can implement basic methods of plant ecology in describing plant coverage. Knows well and can identify the species within the mycological collection produced within subject.
