Course aims
The course is for students whose French skills are at least relevant to A2 level French (elementary user level). Learning prepares the participant to acquire B1 level through French for specific purposes.
Brief description of the course
The course focuses on French cultural space and history of French-speaking countries.
Grammar: participants learn to distinguish and use the indicative, conditional and in subjuntive mode, including the construction of hypotheses in French.
Listening: learning to understand audiovisual material on familiar topics related to the subject field.
Reading: learning to understand texts on familiar topics related to the subject field.
Writing: learning to write individual assignments, where the use of past tenses and different modes is necessary.
Speaking: learning to construct arguments, participate in small discussions, when the topic relates to previously studied materials.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to purposefully use monolingual dictionaries;
- is able to express personal opinion on a subject, make it understandable when some aspect of the conversation was misunderstood, ask for precisions;
- is able to understand the chronological development of events in a story.
