Course aims
Supporting subject. To acquire an overview of the methodological tools used in teaching English, changes and different opinions. To acquire practical skills for teaching English in basic school.
Brief description of the course
Discussing of what is a good teacher/student like. Motivation in foreign language learning: possible problems and difficulties. An overview of the methodology that was and is used in foreign language learning. Structure of a foreign language lesson. Starting a lesson. Presenting new material. Teaching vocabulary and different possibilities of expanding vocabulary. Teaching grammatical structures. Teaching pronunciation: word and sentence stress, rhythm, intonation.
Independent work includes: working with literature on the treated topics, preparation for thematic discussions, compiling tasks of different type.
