Course aims
Receive overview of the methodology used in teaching a foreign language, changes Get overview of methodological means used in teaching Swedish, changes and different attitudes. Acquire practical skills to teach Swedish in primary school.
Forms of study: seminars, mini-lectures, video trainings, independent work with literature.

Brief description of the course
Discussing what is a good teacher/student like. Motivation in foreign language studies: Elements of active learning. Testing and giving evaluation. Class management and forms of interaction. Methodological peculiarities arising from the specificity of Swedish. Compiling study material and principles of selection.
Independent work includes: going through literature on the treated topics, preparation for thematic discussion, compiling of different types of exercises.

Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is familiar with contemporary methods of foreign language teaching and an ability to use these;
- has ability to apply the methodological means resulting from the specificity of Swedish;

- has readiness to work as a teacher of Swedish
