Course aims
The course is for the students who take it for optional studies. The aim of the course is to acquire the language skills that are to a great extent in accordance with the language level B2
(upper-intermediate level) described in CEFR documents. The skills enable wide-ranging social communication concerning the speciality and considering the respective cultural background.
Brief description of the course
The intergrated development of all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) guided by the B2 scale of European language skills levels.
The content and grammar analysis of the texts of both general and speciality interest. Enhancing the vocabulary, developing the use of more complex language structures and applying them in discussions and writing tasks connected with speciality topics.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- acquires the knowledge and skills which are mostly in accordance with the European B2 language level scale (upper-intermediate level);
- can write argumentative essays, express and support their opinions, compile and perform an oral text in the form of a short presentation.
