Brief description of the course

Integrated development of language skills at B1 level; reading and summarising subject-related texts; discussions and group work; independent consolidation of material and vocabulary development. Students who have proficiency in German at level B1.1 may register for the course.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- understands main ideas of everyday speech and media and identifies key details;
- processes written texts with frequently used vocabulary and simpler subject-related expressions, gives structured overviews of subject-related topics;
- communicates more independently on familiar topics;
- applies grammatical structures more accurately, justifies and clarifies opinions coherently;
- reflects on learning strategies and uses resources effectively, demonstrates intercultural awareness;
- demonstrates B1-level proficiency.
