Course aims

To achieve general knowledge of subject didactics.

Brief description of the course

History of Home Economics education. Home Economics in general curriculum. Home Economics as school subject: aims, themes, distribution of lessons. Forms of study. Didactic principles. Learning theories. Study-kitchen, considering didactic and safety

requirements. Teaching and learning materials in Home Economics.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the historical background of home economics subject;
- knows the importance of learning home economics and understands the nature of home economics subject;
- understands the importance of learning environments.
